CCS Secondary Program
"My children have been part of the CCS family for the past 16 years. In that time, the environment at CCS has been nothing short of amazing! All the staff have been loving, caring, and nurturing while providing a great Christian-based education." Bruce & Marcia Graham Owners/Operators McDonalds of Pottstown
Nurturing mind, body, and spirit is at the heart of every program at the secondary level. Daily Bible classes, chapel programs, fully-integrated Christian curriculum across all disciplines, and opportunities for service to others are indicative of the mission of our school. The curriculum is designed and taught to prepare students for the academic and spiritual rigors of the university and life. The role of the intermediate and middle school programs is to equip students with the academic tools necessary for success in our college preparatory high school program. Collectively, the middle school grades annually rank in the 75th to 80th percentiles nationally on the Stanford Achievement Test. This is especially noteworthy since all students, including those with diagnosed disabilities and lower scholastic aptitude are included and reported in those rankings. The role of the high school program is to equip students with the academic knowledge and skills necessary for success in the universities of their choice. All students are enrolled in a college preparatory curriculum that integrates the Christian worldview, creating an authentically Christian curriculum. Honors courses are available in core disciplines in the high school program. Our students' SAT scores are perennially higher than the state and national averages. 92% of alumni go on to 4-year colleges, 6% to 2-year colleges, and 2% to technical schools. Students may earn college credit on campus during their junior and senior years. Field trips are an important part of the learning experience at CCS. All middle school and high school students participate in extended overnight trips that include everything from service and mission trips to help communities here and abroad to backpacking along the Appalachian Trail in Virginia. Extra-curricular opportunities abound in both middle school and high school, with chorus, instrumental music and special interest clubs available to students. A variety of sports are available, including cross country, volleyball, soccer, basketball, softball, and baseball. For those who prefer to cheer on their peers from the sidelines, there are also middle school and high school spirit squads. |
